The Browns improve their linebacker unit in our community mock draft.
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

There were 3 players I debated about (Newsome and Ojulari) as the clock counted down, but I feel this is the pick that best improves the defense of the Browns. These 3 players were #1, 2, & 3 left on my board. Koramoah was #1 with Newsome being second.
Koramoah plays a position that is a weakness on the Browns (LB), but adds a dimension with his coverage ability. I think he fits perfectly into the 4-2-5 defense Joe Woods likes to run. He could be the “Monster” LB/S hybrid (what we called it in HS) in the 5-man defensive backfield. This could allow the Browns to play almost nickel defense at all times, while still having 3 LBs on the field. I was prepared (if this was a real draft) to trade up to 20 to get Koramoah, but he ultimately fell. Koramoah was #7 on my board and #6 was picked at 14. I was worried he wouldn’t fall this far, but I am happy with this result.
Pokorny: “I made a different pick in the SB Nation writers mock draft for the Browns, with a similar pool of players still on the board. However, guys like Owusu-Koramoah, Ojulari, Newsome, and really any other defensive player still on the board are guys who I’m fine with the Browns selecting. When you get to No. 26 overall, there’s really not a player you’re in love with, it’s more about relaxing and seeing which guy GM Andrew Berry will select on April 29th.”
