April 25, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

2025 NFL Draft Trade Rumors

The 2025 NFL Draft trade rumors are heating up. With the draft just hours away, teams across the league are lining up potential deals, especially near the top of the board. According to Peter Schrager, the Cleveland Browns (No. 2 pick) and New York Giants (No. 3 pick) are actively fielding calls from teams hoping to trade up for elite prospects.

Both teams are reportedly open to making a deal, and with several blue-chip players drawing interest, movement in the top 5 seems increasingly likely.

Potential Targets Driving 2025 NFL Draft Trade Buzz

The Browns and Giants are in a position to land premier talent. Prospects like Colorado’s two-way superstar Travis Hunter, Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty are among the names generating the most trade buzz.

Hunter is at the center of many 2025 NFL Draft trade rumors. In 2024, he logged 1,461 snaps, 4 interceptions, and 11 pass breakups on defense alone and had 96 catches for 1,258 yards and 15 TDs on offense. His rare versatility prompted Browns GM Andrew Berry to compare him to MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani.

As a result, several teams are preparing to get aggressive and trade up for a shot at a top prospect.

Teams Exploring 2025 NFL Draft Trade Scenarios

Chicago Bears

The Bears, currently holding the No. 10 pick, are exploring trade-up options to bolster their defense. Reports suggest they have their eyes on Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, a top-tier talent who could significantly enhance their pass rush. With two second-round picks at their disposal, Chicago has the draft capital to make a move into the top 5 if necessary.

Denver Broncos

Denver, currently picking 20th, has made calls to teams in the top 10. Ashton Jeanty is one potential target after a 2,600-yard, 29-touchdown season. The Broncos are among the most aggressive teams in this year’s draft cycle.

Buffalo Bills

While they hold a late first-round pick, the Bills could surprise and move up. Whether it’s a lockdown corner or a weapon for Josh Allen, Buffalo is a team to watch in the 2025 draft trade market.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are reportedly exploring a bold move back into the top 10. Though their target is unclear, they’re believed to be looking at premier defenders or a long-term offensive tackle.

Houston Texans

Among the hottest 2025 NFL Draft trade rumors involves the Texans. Sitting at No. 25, they’re reportedly trying to move up for a high-end offensive lineman after trading Laremy Tunsil. According to Albert Breer, Houston could target Kelvin Banks or Donovan Jackson and has the Day 2 capital (Nos. 58, 79, 89) to make it happen.

Trade Talk Heating Up as Draft Approaches

With only days remaining until Round 1, the 2025 NFL Draft trade rumors continue to swirl. Teams chasing top-tier talent will need to decide if the cost to move up is worth it. Whether it’s Hunter, Jeanty, Carter, or one of the premier offensive linemen, expect movement early and often once the picks start rolling in.

The Browns and Giants are the draft’s biggest wild cards — and their decisions could define how the first round unfolds.
