Round 1: Pick 6 – Carnell Tate, Ohio State
Assuming Jordyn Tyson is going to the Giants. Carnell Tate is the obvious choice for the Cleveland Browns. Tate produced 875 yards on 52 catches along with nine touchdowns in his final season at Ohio St. Tate proved to be a strong, reliable target for quarterback Julian Sayin throughout the season. However, if Tate is taken by the Giants. The Browns should realistically move back and draft Spencer Fano out of Utah. Not only is Fano a major upgrade to Dawand Jones, but he seems to be the most pro-ready tackle in the upcoming draft. Also, if the Browns move back, they could build up picks to be used in a trade or drafting young, promising talent.
I do not believe Jordyn Tyson would be the correct pick here for the Browns due to his long injury history. While in Colorado, Tyson tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL, which caused him to miss the entire 2023 season with recovery. In 2024, Tyson missed the College Football Playoff with a collarbone injury, and he missed time in 2025 due to a hamstring injury late in the season.
Tyson’s injuries should be a cause of major concern, especially for a team that has dealt with injury issues since seemingly the dawn of time. Jordyn Tyson is a phenomenal receiver, but sometimes the best ability is availability. With the Browns’ needs at offensive line, it is more important to fill those holes than take a risk on a receiver who is constantly injured.
Round 1: Pick 24 – Olaivavega “Vega” Ioane, Penn State
Ioane was a dominant force for Penn State throughout his Sophomore campaign. He has excellent power in the hips and is the number one interior offensive lineman in the draft. Ioane is most likely the most NFL-ready guard in the draft and fills the hole left by Joel Bitonio’s retirement. Another positive alternative would be Emmanuel Pregnon from Oregon. Pregnon also seems NFL-ready with his 88.2 pass block grade, which ranks him seventh among qualified guards. However, the edge goes to Vega Ioane due to his sheer size and power.
The main problem is the offensive line. The Browns desperately need offensive line help this offseason. Joel Bitonio, a longtime offensive guard, is most likely retiring this offseason. Ethan Pocic and Wyatt Teller are both free agents, so now might be the time for the Browns to re-tool the offensive line. Pocic and Teller are both great talents, but they aren’t getting any younger, and it may be time to let them go.
It is no surprise that the Browns need a lot of offensive help in this upcoming draft. Although the Browns’ quarterback needs are yet to be satisfied, they should most likely sign a guy like Malik Willis, who has proven to be a great backup in Green Bay. He may not be the best option for QB next season, but with the weak QB class this season, it may be in the best interest to roll with Willis and continue to rebuild.
The NFL draft order is not at all set in stone. With the uncertainty of players going back to college and many of the top ten teams in a full rebuild, the draft will certainly be exciting this season, and the Browns have many different avenues they can choose to explore.
