Quarterback Baker Mayfield, shoulder, and all appeared on a podcast where he voiced his opinion on the Browns and what they did in acquiring Deshaun Watson.
“I feel disrespected — 100%. Because I was told one thing and they completely did another. That’s what I’m in the middle of right now. I’ve had 4 different head coaches in four years. A bunch of different coordinators.”
Mayfield has no idea where he will play next season and this is mainly because the ball still lies in the Browns’ court on what team he could be traded to still moving forward. However, experts feel a move could happen during draft week…
“I would imagine the week of the draft, they’ll be some things. We may get a Baker Mayfield trade,” Ian Rapoport said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “… It just makes sense.”
Thus, the answer to all of these Mayfield questions could finally be solved the week of April 28-30. It will be nice to finally know how everything is going to work out and who or what the Browns will get in return for the quarterback.
The Browns have, of course, quarterback DeShaun Watson, quarterback Jacoby Brissett and quarterback Joshua Dobbs as their three QBs for the upcoming season. It makes it clear that Mayfield is no longer wanted here in Cleveland and the team is going to do everything they can to trade him away.
Quite a downfall for a quarterback that went from leading the Browns to a playoff win over the Steelers to now having the team desperately trying to trade him away. Mayfield was supposed to be the franchise quarterback and now he’s anything but…
The Browns will have to find a team that is willing to give up something to start a project with a quarterback that had and then lost the potential to be great. We will see which team is willing to take that risk and go for it with the Browns and what they will trade back.
Mayfield may feel disrespected, but it was his injury and lack solid of play that really caused these problems to happen throughout the course of last season. It’s why the Browns made the trade for Watson and wanted to turn the page in the first place. It’s not like Mayfield won the team a Super Bowl and this is what they did to shove it in his face. It’s quite the opposite…
