Baker Mayfield wants out of Cleveland following the Browns’ trade for former Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson this offseason.
But the former No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick could be waiting a while before he gets what he wants from the Browns.
According to a new report, Mayfield is expected to remain with the Browns through the NFL Draft and it’s possible he’ll still be on the roster when training camp opens.
From the Browns flagship station @SportsBoyTony says on @937theFan that the Browns will likely keep Baker Mayfield until after the draft. And could be on the team at the start of training camp!
Wow.

There haven’t been any serious takers for Mayfield yet, though teams like the Seahawks and the Panthers have often been mentioned.
Perhaps Cleveland will wait until later this summer.
“Browns have zero reason to cut him now when someone could trade for him if there’s an injury a la Sam Bradford to the Vikings,” one fan tweeted.
“Like they had a choice, nobody is going to give them much for Baker Mayfield anyway!” another fan added on Twitter.
I keep saying this. No team is going to trade for him knowing the browns will have to cut him before the start of the season. #browns https://t.co/2CVKhfsjH5

It would be surprising if no trade happens, but Mayfield could be waiting a while before one does.
