When you’re 29 years old and you’re a popular sports figure like Browns former wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. one certainly doesn’t expect to start seeing headlines, like the ones we saw earlier in the week about Beckham’s dad making claims on social media platforms that the Browns should free his son from them and let him go play football somewhere else because his son’s feelings were getting hurt.
Football, the last time I checked was a team sport where 11 men line up to compete against the opponents 11 men. Beckham Jr. has never understood that concept, ever. There are many in the world we live in today, that will run to Beckham’s side and try and rescue his reputation by saying that he’s a good guy, works hard and loves his teammates. Well that’s not exactly true, is it?
I’m not here to wish Beckham Jr. well because quite honestly, he took a cold and calculated gamble on his employer and won because his dad got involved. Oh and also an NBA superstar like LeBron James, who at the same time Beckham Sr. was posting messages on social media platforms, so was James. A bold move indeed and one that this writer finds very shallow and wrong. With that let’s move forward to a team without Beckham Jr. and honestly a better team at that, as we tackle our 1st and goal report.
