If the Cleveland Browns want to make noise as a road team in the playoffs, they’ll need to have all of the players from their No. 1 defense healthy to survive the gauntlet. Luckily for them, one of those top defenders is getting healthier.
On Wednesday, the Browns announced that they have designated starting safety Grant Delpit to return from injured reserve. Delpit has been out of action for the past four weeks but has been invaluable to the Browns this season.
“The Cleveland Browns have designated S Grant Delpit for return from injured reserve. In addition, the club signed CB Kalon Barnes to the practice squad,” the team said in a statement.
“Before being placed on injured reserve, Delpit started the first 13 games and was leading the Browns with 77 tackles, while adding 1.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. He sustained a groin injury and was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 13. Delpit was selected as an alternate for the Pro Bowl this year.”

The Browns gave up the fewest yards in the NFL this season while the team finished with a top 10 offense despite starting five different quarterbacks throughout the year.
The team finished 11-6 and will head into the playoffs with the experienced Joe Flacco as their starter.
Will Grant Delpit make an impact for the Browns upon his return?
