During last weekend’s game between the Browns and Rams, fans noticed that Deshaun Watson was watching the action from a suite. Many people wondered why he wasn’t on the sidelines with his teammates.
Well, we now know why. A spokesperson for the Browns told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com that Watson wasn’t on the sideline due to concerns about his shoulder injury.
The medical staff claims it didn’t want to risk Watson being involved in a sideline collision.
For what it’s worth, Watson wasn’t the only player in that suite at SoFi Stadium. The team said all players on injured reserve were there with Watson.

Watson has been sidelined since Nov. 12 against the Ravens. He finished the 2023 season with 1,115 passing yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions.
Last month, Watson underwent surgery to repair a displaced fracture in his right glenoid in his shoulder.
The Browns have Watson under contract through 2026. His base salary for next season is $46 million.
