Despite opening as three-point underdogs to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the betting odds have now swung in the favor of the Cleveland Browns. After the Jaguars suffered an overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football, they suffered an even bigger loss. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence left the game with an ankle injury and had to be practically carried off the field and into the locker room.
The Jaguars are waiting on the results of an MRI after initially diagnosing the injury as an ankle sprain. The oddsmakers, however, do not seem to think that Lawrence will be able to give it a go on a short week as Cleveland is now three-point favorites over the Jaguars. The injury to Lawrence caused a massive six-point swing on BetMGM’s books.
After dropping back-to-back games, the Browns need to get back in the win column. While they are still in the driver’s seat toward a postseason slot, a win against the Jaguars would all but give them an undeniable chance to claim a wildcard spot.
We will keep you updated on any injury news regarding Lawrence, but it looks like the Browns will see C.J. Beathard on Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
