Dawand Jones is the clear favorite to start, but will he be able to avoid the injury bug?
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Cleveland Browns fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Even though we aren’t quite at our offensive line previews yet for the Cleveland Browns, our Reacts question this week looks at one of the biggest questions at the position: who will the team’s primary left tackle be?
This week’s question doesn’t exactly ask that, because otherwise, I think nearly 100% of fans would answer Dawand Jones. However, after a strong rookie campaign, injuries crept in, and then started impacting him last year too, among other things. The word is that he has lost weight to try to help keep him healthier in 2025, where he is set to be the team’s starting left tackle to begin the season. Will he last there, though?
The Browns also signed veteran Cornelius Lucas in free agency this year. Lucas has started 54 games in his career. Since 2019, between the Bears and Commanders, he has started an average of almost 8 games per year. So, our poll below asks you to use a crystal ball of sorts — try to answer the question as if you were betting money on one or the other. By the end of the season, who starts more games at left tackle: Jones or Lucas?
