Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins arrested

July 13, 2025 by NEO Sports Insiders

The Cleveland Browns new rookie running back Quinshon Judkins, who was drafted from Ohio State in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft, was arrested Saturday for a domestic battery charge in Broward County in Florida. He’s facing a charge of “Touch or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence.

There are no other details as of the posting of this article. This is the second drafted player by the Browns who has been charged with domestic violence. Last year, Michael Hall, a second-round pick and also from Ohio State, was similarly charged. He later agreed in court to a “no contest” of the charges. He was suspended by the NFL for the first five games of last season.

If that’s the barometer for these types of charges, then don’t plan on seeing Judkins play in the regular season for the first several games.

The untimely charges have set the new and improved run game back, going into the season. I had just written about Judkins and other rookie running back Dylan Sampson filling the void left by Nick Chubb, leaving the team as a free agent.

This, unfortunately, throws all that potential out the window with this hugely disappointing decision by a kid on the verge of stardom. Maybe he will prosper and get his act together, but this certainly takes his character into consideration a lot more moving forward.

Judkins was considered by many analysts of the Browns, the new bell cow of the team, potentially leading the squad to new heights in the run game. In college, he collected 3,785 yards rushing and 45 touchdowns in his three seasons (two at Ole Miss and one at Ohio State). He shared the backfield at Ohio State with TreVeyon Henderson last year but still managed 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Now we’ll await more details of this charge. The Cleveland rookies report to training camp on July 18th and the vets on July 21st. Buckle up, Browns fans, and have your bag of popcorn ready. Things are already heating up in Cleveland!
