Cleveland and Baltimore have been playing each other since 1999. Here are 5 memorable games from the series.
The Cleveland Browns will make their first road trip of the 2025 NFL season when they take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, before hosting the Ravens in Week 11.
The two teams first met in 1999, and the Ravens lead the all-time series, 37-15. After a stretch from 2008 to 2021 that saw the Browns win just four games against the Ravens, Cleveland has regained its footing in recent years, as it is 4-3 against Baltimore in its past seven meetings.

Let’s take a look at five of the most memorable games between the Browns and Ravens.
October 21, 2001: Browns 24, Ravens 14
Cleveland picked up its first victory over Baltimore, and its third consecutive home win of the season, in a game that the Browns dominated. Led by a defense that had seven sacks and forced three turnovers, Cleveland broke the game open in the third quarter as Tim Couch first hit Kevin Johnson with a 28-yard touchdown pass and then, after the Browns recovered a Baltimore fumble, the offense struck again as Couch hit Quincy Morgan with a 36-yard touchdown to give the Browns a 24-6 lead.
The win pushed the Browns record to 4-2 on the season, and while they would beat the Ravens a month later in Baltimore, Cleveland finished the season at just 7-9.
November 18, 2007: Browns 33, Ravens 30 (OT)
Cleveland’s wild ride in 2007 continued in Baltimore as Phil Dawson’s 51-yard field goal, first ruled no good, sent the game into overtime. The Browns had the ball first in overtime, and a 41-yard kickoff return by Josh Cribbs set up what would eventually be a game-winning 33-yard field goal by Dawson.
It wasn’t easy to get there, however, as the Browns blew a 27-14 lead in the fourth quarter by allowing the Ravens to score 16 consecutive points to take a three-point lead with 26 seconds remaining in the game. But Cribbs returned the kickoff 39 yards, Derek Anderson hit Braylon Edwards with an 18-yard pass, and Dawson did the rest.
Cribbs had a team-record 245 returning yards in the game, Cleveland’s defense sacked Baltimore quarterback Kyle Boller six times and forced four turnovers, and the Browns swept the season series with the Ravens for the first time since 2001.
November 3, 2013: Browns 24, Ravens 18
Cleveland broke an 11-game losing streak to Baltimore as Jason Campbell threw three touchdown passes to take down the defending Super Bowl champions.
Campbell finished the day 23-of-35 for 262 yards, with a pair of touchdown passes to Davone Bess and one to Gary Barnidge (ah, the memories!) to outduel Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco, who took five sacks but did lead the Ravens in rushing with 25 yards.
The Ravens had cut Cleveland’s lead to just three points in the fourth quarter after Flacco hit Marlon Brown with a seven-yard pass and again for the two-point conversion. But Campbell kept his cool and led the Browns on a 15-play, 50-yard drive that culminated in Billy Cundiff’s 22-yard field goal with 17 seconds left to ice the win.
Cleveland headed into the bye week after the win with a 4-5 record, but that would turn out to be the last victory of the season as the Browns closed out the year with seven consecutive losses, turning Rob Chudzinski into a one-and-done head coach.
September 29, 2019: Browns 40, Ravens 25
In one of the few bright spots in the 2019 season, Cleveland rolled into Baltimore in late September and took down the Ravens behind 342 passing yards from Baker Mayfield, 165 rushing yards and three touchdowns from Nick Chubb, and 167 receiving yards from Jarvis Landry.
All told, the Browns piled up 530 yards of offense against the Ravens, had 10 plays of at least 16 yards, and the highlight of the day was Chubb’s 88-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the Browns ahead, 30-18.
Cleveland’s defense offset Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson’s three touchdown passes by sacking him four times and intercepting him twice. The afternoon was also notable for Baltimore defensive back Marlon Humphrey choking Cleveland’s Odell Beckham Jr. in the third quarter as Beckham became frustrated by being held to just two catches for 20 yards.
The Browns would go just 4-8 the rest of the season as Freddie Kitchens became the last one-and-done head coach in Cleveland.
November 12, 2023: Browns 33, Ravens 31
Cleveland rallied back from multiple 14-point deficits to beat the Ravens in what was the high point of the Deshaun Watson era in Cleveland.
Watson completed every pass in the second half, and the Browns cut the lead to seven points after Watson hit Elijah Moore with a 10-yard touchdown pass with just under nine minutes left in the game. Cleveland pulled within one point two plays later when cornerback Greg Newsome II returned a Lamar Jackson interception 34 yards for a touchdown.
Cleveland’s defense forced a Baltimore punt on the ensuing possession, and Watson led the Browns on a 12-play, 58-yard drive that culminated in a 40-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins to win the game with no time remaining.
Watson suffered a displaced fracture in his right shoulder during the game, an injury that landed him on season-ending injured reserve. But for that one afternoon in Baltimore, the Browns got a return on their investment in Watson.
