On Friday afternoon, The Cleveland Browns signed cornerback 23-year old Lavert Hill after cutting fellow cornerback Reggie Robinson II from the team on the same day.
Lavert Hill went from Martin Luther King High School, playing a huge role in the high school winning the 2015 Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 championship.
Hill went onto playing in the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl as a four-star nationally ranked recruit, declared the 12th best CB in the United States by 24/7 sports as a senior in high school.
After being recognized as the Lockheed Martin Air Defender of the Year as the nation’s top high school defensive back, Lavert Hill declared his much-awaited commitment to Michigan University.
While at the University of Michigan, Lavert Hill was a Second-team All-Big Ten for 2017, 2× First-team All-Big Ten for 2018 and 2019, and Thorpe Award finalist for the 2018 NCAA football season.
Despite an amazing college football career, he went undrafted during the 2020 NFL Draft, going on to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs on a training camp deal.
After he was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs during after training camp, Hill jumped around the league for the past two years on numerous practice squads.
Hill finished his rookie year with the Philadelphia Eagles for the rest of the 2020-2021 NFL season to the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers for the 2021-2022 NFL season.
He’s a clearly talented defensive back, but he’s got to prove it with the best of the best in the NFL. Best of luck to Lavert Hill to make the Cleveland Browns main roster!
