Prior this Wednesday’s episode of The Herd, the Las Vegas Raiders agreed to a three-year extension with Derek Carr worth $121.5 million. As a result, Carr’s new contract was one of the major talking points on Colin Cowherd’s latest show.
Even though Cowherd said the Raiders paid “more than he’d want to” for Carr, he doesn’t hate the deal at all. That’s because he believes Carr is one of 12 quarterbacks in today’s NFL that is capable of winning a Super Bowl.
The other quarterbacks capable of leading their team to a Super Bowl are Josh Allen, Tom Brady, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson.
“Derek Carr this year had an interim coach, maybe the poorest owner in the league, lost his star receiver, had a bad o-line, Darren Waller missed time, yet he carried the team to the playoffs,” Cowherd said when explaining why Carr is a game-changer at quarterback.

Carr set the Raiders’ single-season record for passing yards (4,804) this past season, breaking a mark previously held by Rich Gannon.
With better talent around him now in Las Vegas, Carr should be able to have even more success in 2022. After all, the front office acquired his former college teammate in Davante Adams.
Do you believe Carr is one of 12 quarterbacks capable of winning a Super Bowl?
