I don’t think I’ve ever eaten SPAM in my entire life nor did I think I would ever be writing an article about it. Well, what is SPAM?
“Pork with ham meat added, salt, water, potato starch, sugar, and sodium nitrite”
From my understanding, it’s a cheap and pretty gross type of food that soldiers used to eat cause they didn’t have anything else (thank you for your service, all).
Well, Browns radio host Nathan Zegura described quarterback Deshaun Watson as a “SPAM Sandwich.” This obviously was not meant to be of compliments or anything. And the brand itself reached out and let him know. This is hilarious and I posted it on our Twitter X.
If I’m Deshaun Watson, well I have a whirlwind of emotions watching the Browns and this franchise as a whole get so much love by Jameis Winston now at quarterback due to his injury that ended the season. Then you have this entire brand literally so disgusted by a radio host’s description that they write this entire DOCUMENT (posted above) about their company justifying how their food is better than the quarterback.
So say I’m Watson. I’m already hurt and out for the year both physically and probably mentally too. Yeah, I’m rich and likely have lots of ladies over still – sure. HOWEVER, everyone in this city hates me. I’m done for the season and now I even have absolutely horrific food being compared to me.
Well, I gotta do it and this is probably another reason why SPAM went out of their way to way to write this is for the free advertising they are getting. I’m going to do it. I just have to…
Instead of my usual Chipotle or McDonalds, I am going to sacrifice a meal and purchase SPAM for dinner. Yes, it’s a sacrifice but it must be done in order to understand just why.
Is Deshaun Watson really so bad that this comparison was…right? Well, that is something I will determine in the near future. Another thought – if Watson is SPAM then what is Jameis Winston?
