Best fans in the league have been through some rough times but Browns fans are still given credit
The Cleveland Browns have had the best fans in the NFL for years. The Cleveland Browns have also tested their fan base to the point where that great passion may be waning just a bit. The constant losing was one thing, but the decision to trade for QB Deshaun Watson was both a public relations and on-field disaster, on top of the team’s communication strategy (in general, secretive, often paranoid), has dealt a blow to the Dawgs.
Then again, whether you are a Dawg By Nature or Dawg By Nurture, the orange and brown colors run deep. And are well respected.
When speaking to DE Abdul Carter and his family, legendary NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus, the inspiration for Tom Cruise’s “Jerry McGuire” character, had some good things to say about each team drafting in the Top 5 of the 2025 NFL draft. Only one team’s fans were discussed in the video, Cleveland’s:
“They have a great fan base. They are incredible fans, the Dawg Pound. Reminiscent of Penn State.”
Browns fans weren’t the only positives shared with the Carter family. HC Kevin Stefanski, DC Jim Schwartz and DE Myles Garrett were also mentioned:

Carter, who ended up with the New York Giants, has a chance with a storied franchise but does not get to play for the best fans in the land.
Soon, hopefully, those fans will also have something on the field to get their excitement going as well.
Are you surprised that the Browns fan base was one of the selling points from Rosenhaus? Do you think the Dawg Pound faithful are still just as strong and passionate as they’ve always been? If not, what will it take for that passion to return?
