Dwight Schrute actor likes idea of Seahawks trading for Baker Mayfield

June 23, 2022 by Browns Wire

Sports and pop culture tend to interact quite often in a variety of ways. Whether it is Super Bowl halftime shows, commercials or just parties from both walks of life engaging with each other, it is often fun to see the interactions.

A couple of seasons ago, we saw this with Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield who was making pop culture references throughout his interviews. Whether it was music, movies or television shows, Mayfield was able to artfully get his references in.

One of the pop culture references was from the hit TV show “The Office.” A favorite for many and cringe-inducing for others, the show was very quotable:

With a report popping up that the Seattle Seahawks have interest in trading for Mayfield, the actor who played the character quoted in the video above approved of the potential move:

The @Seahawks should 100% nab @BakerMayfield. He’s already been proven EXCELLENT and with some coaching (and some amazing receivers) can reach GREATNESS! Pull the trigger, hawks!https://t.co/9phDOtWJ51

The actor, Rainn Wilson, is a huge Seahawks fan while the character, Dwight Schrute, is a beet farmer who is always getting pranks pulled on him.

While the first season of “The Office” was, at times, difficult to watch, the series got better as it went. Mayfield is hoping that his stint in Cleveland will be like the first few episodes of “The Office” and his career, like the show, takes off from there.

Wilson/Schrute approves.
