On Friday night, former Steelers backup quarterback Josh Dobbs signed a contract for the 2022 season. He agreed to a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.
Dobbs, 27, was selected by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In limited action with the team, the Tennessee product had 45 passing yards and an interception.
The Browns’ depth chart is currently loaded at quarterback with Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield and Jacoby Brissett. The expectation around the league is that Mayfield will be traded or released at some point this year.
If the Browns move on from Mayfield, they may hold a battle in training camp between Brissett and Dobbs to see who should be the team’s primary backup.

As for Dobbs’ former team, it’ll now have to get used to seeing him in a different uniform.
Dobbs had a great reaction regarding his deal with the Browns, tweeting “Prolly should change my profile pic.”

For now, Dobbs is still wearing a Steelers uniform in his profile picture on Twitter.
Dobbs has plenty of time to make changes to his social media profile though.
