Diving into PFF’s newly released 2025 offensive line rankings

The Cleveland Browns‘ offensive line has taken a beating over the past few seasons, both on the field and in the media, due to injuries and a lack of overall production.

According to Pro Football Focus’s brand new 2025 Offensive Line rankings, the Browns’ OL unit ranks 27th heading into the regular season. It’s an unfortunate sight, seeing as they were once ranked amongst the best in the league.

LG Joel Bitonio and RG Wyatt Teller, who were once ranked as the best offensive guard duo in the NFL, haven’t been as effective due to injuries and age-related issues. Though there’s a chance that it won’t make a difference at all, the team has hope that the pair can get back to their old selves in 2025 for one main reason:

They’re shifting back to the “old” wide/outside-zone scheme this season.

PFF Offensive Line Rankings Entering 2025:

26. Jacksonville Jaguars
27. Cleveland Browns
28. New York Giants
29. New England Patriots
30. Seattle Seahawks
31. Cincinnati Bengals

We should see Bitonio and Teller pulling a lot more as well when Cleveland sequences power schemes off of stretch plays throughout the season.

C Ethan Pocic is another piece that needs to play much better in 2025 after coming off what could be seen as an “okay” season, but he has to be more consistent in order for the offense to work.

Both OTs Dawand Jones and Jack Conklin need to stay healthy this season if the Browns are going to have any chance of replicating their offensive success from a few seasons ago. Jones also needs to have a smooth transition to full-time left tackle this offseason, and that could be a feat in and of itself.

On a good note, it appears as though Jones is healthy and off to a great start this offseason, reportedly weighing in around 40-50 pounds less than what he did in 2024. Overall, this ranking (27th) feels like a realistic spot for a group that hasn’t done much to help themselves as of late.
