Jim Donovan, the radio voice of the Cleveland Browns, had great news to share with his fans this Thursday. He has officially completed his radiation treatment.
Donovan’s battle with leukemia forced him to leave the broadcast booth this past NFL season.
A video of Donovan sharing this update on his health surfaced on social media.
“Hey everybody. My last radiation treatment – 25 up, 25 down,” Donovan said. “What a team I had. What an honor. Ring the bell three times.”
As you’d expect, this update from Donovan put a smile on every Browns fan’s face this afternoon.
“This made my day,” one fan wrote on social media.
Another fan said, “Love this guy!!! RING THAT BELL.”
“A blessed day for an amazing person,” a third person commented. “Cleveland is always with Jim Donovan.”
“Congrats Jimmy!!! You are both an inspiration to many and a true Cleveland legend,” a Browns fan tweeted.
Unfortunately, this is the second time that Donovan has dealt with this disease. That being said, it hasn’t been able to break his spirit.
Donovan has been the voice of the Browns since 1999. In addition to his work on the radio, he’s an anchor for WKYC.
We’re wishing Donovan all the best this year.
