Now that the 2021 Browns season has come to an end, it’s time to look forward to 2022. Because the Browns beat the Bengals, they will be picking 13th in the 2022 NFL draft and have eight draft picks overall with an additional fourth-round pick from Detroit. Teams needs include wide receiver, interior defensive line, offensive tackle and interior line depth, edge rusher, safety and linebacker.
According to http://overthecap.com the Browns have over $27 million in cap space. By cutting C J.C. Tretter, WR Jarvis Landry and QB Case Keenum, the Browns would have an additional $29.9million in cap space. In my opinion, the Browns potential free agents that should get top priority for extensions and re-signing are CB Denzel Ward, DE Jadeveon Clowney, S M.J. Stewart, OT Chris Hubbard (if healthy), P Dustin Colquitt, OL Blake Hance, OL Michael Dunn and possible RB D’Ernest Johnson. I would wait on QB Baker Mayfield, there are too many moving parts right now, the front office is in wait-and-see mode with Mayfield.

The final team statistics for the Browns…
They finished 18th in offense, fifth in defense and 24th in special teams. They averaged 195 yards passing, 146 yards rushing and 20.5 points a game. They allowed 202 yards passing, 109 yards rushing and 21.8 points a game. The Browns finished fourth in rushing attempts (485) and 28th in passing attempts (520). While the offense struggled down the stretch, the defense shined. The Browns secondary graded a 90.7 according to Pro Football Focus in coverage for the year, the highest in the league.
The Browns still have a young and talented roster. I trust GM Andrew Berry to improve the areas of need and the coaching staff to evaluate themselves and make the correct adjustments to improve the scheme and play calling. On to next year.
