There was not a single person on the planet who thought quarterback Shedeur Sanders would drop through the first three rounds of this year’s draft. The college star out of Colorado was projected to be picked anywhere from #2 in Cleveland to our Browns or a bit later in the first round, too. It goes to show…you just never know.
Of course, I’ll admit I was wrong in the sense that I thought even our Browns would take Sanders at #2 or at least some team would take him in the first round. This is probably one of the more shocking slides in the draft and honestly, a single storyline in sports history.
So, why?
Why did this quarterback not get taken in the first three rounds?
Well, let’s start with the obvious. He’s certainly no guarantee. Critics say he lacks pocket awareness and athleticism. He has a tendency to hold the ball too long, retreat in the pocket instead of stepping up. Thus, this isn’t like he’s leading whatever team picks him to a Super Bowl automatically in year one.
The next issue is that he’s perceived as very arrogant, entitled and it was said he did not perform well in his interviews with his potential suitors before the draft.
Another thing I believe a lot of teams didn’t want to deal with is the package that is his father in Deion Sanders. Certainly, the phone will be ringing often with Daddy giving his suggestions to whatever team picks his son to try and help out.
Lastly, this is the biggest one for me and it ties into the first reason. Hang on, let me explain.
I hesitate to compare Sanders to Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson and I am not doing so in regards to play on the field. So, relax here. What I do know is that when Watson was traded for and extended by the Browns, the hype was absolutely crazy in these parts. That hype, I believe, was part of the reason Watson was absolutely awful.
Every team knew that if they were to take Sanders, the hype across the entire country would be wild. Everyone would want to watch and see just how well Sanders does for whatever team he is on. Thus, I think teams did not want to deal with that hype and all the negatives that could come with a struggling or losing quarterback. That’s the idea of bringing up Watson.
Of course, if he were to be a winner, everything would be great. But that’s just not a guarantee with Sanders.
Even the Browns, with plenty of opportunities to take him, passed on him for quarterback Dillon Gabriel out of Oregon. That was a shocking pick at 94th overall in the 3rd round with Sanders still available.

Now, let’s take a look at day three.
My question is, what team that didn’t want him in the first three rounds is willing to take a shot and deal with all the “Sanders Shit” I described previously?
Finally, Conspirary Zach is out here.
The moon landing was fake. Okay, back to Sanders.
Is there something out there that we simply don’t know? A secret that hasn’t gone public or has been hidden by the GMs/Owners? Because this drop is wild…
Let’s see what happens in these final rounds and if something does end up becoming public as more of a reasonable explanation to explain this all.
If Sanders doesn’t get picked, maybe he can work for President Donald Trump? POTUS certainly likes him!
