Jerome Baker reunited with long-time Dolphins teammate Nik Needham
The NFL draft is just days away but the NFL isn’t a league that keeps things in silos. While NFL draft prep is finishing up, NFL free agency is almost always going on and some teams (those with new coaches) have started offseason programs.
The Cleveland Browns roster has needs and places in the draft to fill those needs. While we all assume WR/CB Travis Hunter will help fill some of those needs, what position he is best at is still up in the air. GM Andrew Berry, often active in NFL free agency, reunited LB Jerome Baker with his Miami Dolphins teammate, CB Nik Needham, to help fill out the roster just days before the draft:

An undrafted free agent out of Texas-El Paso in 2019, Needham has played in 63 games, including 27 starts, in six seasons with the Dolphins. A majority of those games (45 of 63) were played in his first three seasons in the league.
In 2021 and 2022, Pro Football Focus gave Needham coverage grades over 66 (light green, good) but below 50 in 2020 and 2023.
Injuries have limited Needham in the last few seasons. The defensive back might be helpful on special teams but has limited experience (249 snaps) with his career high of 147 coming in 2021.
