Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was the leader of one of the NFL’s top defenses in 2023, but he doesn’t seem to be making any headway when it comes to a head coaching gig.
According to NBC’s ProFootballTalk, despite Schwartz’s impressive performance this year none of the teams in need of a head coach have requested to speak with him.
Schwartz went 29-52 as the head coach of the Lions before going to win the Super Bowl as a coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles. After which he was interviewed by the Giants and Cardinals with neither resulting in a job.
Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz had gotten no head-coaching interview requests before Saturday’s playoff game. After last night, that’s probably not going to change. https://t.co/1bbk4YwoKB

At 57-years-old, Schwartz still has plenty of coaching left in him. But with the way the NFL is trending, its become a bit harder for defensive-minded coaches to make a big splash.
Of course, fans in Cleveland are hoping the lack of interest in Schwartz continues with how their defense performed this season.
Even with the team’s year ending in a 45-14 blowout to C.J. Stroud and the Texans in the wild card round.
