The Los Angeles Rams haven’t been able to make many selections in this year’s draft, but they did just acquire a veteran cornerback.
Per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Rams are trading for cornerback Troy Hill from the Cleveland Browns. This will mark his second stint with Los Angeles.
Hill, an undrafted player out of Oregon, started his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent a week with the New England Patriots in 2015 before carving out a nice role for himself on the Rams.
Once his time with the Rams came to an end, Hill signed a four-year, $24 million contract with the Browns.
Fast forward to the present day, and Hill will return to the Rams to fill the void left behind by Darious Williams. The Browns, meanwhile, will receive a 2023 fifth-round pick in return for Hill.
It’s a future pick going to the #Browns for Hill, who of course played for the #Rams for 6 seasons. https://t.co/RPkMylMGjO

During the 2021 season, Hill had 49 total tackles, two sacks and one pass defended for the Browns. In his final season with the Rams, however, he had 77 tackles, 10 passes defended and three interceptions.
We’ll see if Hill can return to his 2020 form now that he’s back in Los Angeles.
