The Cleveland Browns reportedly received some positive news regarding quarterback Deshaun Watson.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the three-time Pro Bowler is on-track to begin throwing next month and could potentially do so in as soon as a couple of weeks.
Watson underwent shoulder surgery back in November to repair a fractured socket in his throwing arm. Injuries and suspension have limited him to just 12 games over the past two seasons. But it sounds like he can’t wait to get back on the field with new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.
“I’m excited,” Watson said on his recent podcast. “First of all, former player, and then being able to call plays in games like the AFC Championship Game and divisional round. I’m super excited to get up there in Cleveland and just learn from him, and I heard his press conference too. That was dope to be able to hear what he said, make me one of those type quarterbacks again. So that’s the key.”
The Browns were 5-1 when the former Houston Texan started in 2023 and most thought they were done for once he was ruled out for the season. However, Joe Flacco took over late in the year and helped lead Cleveland to a playoff berth.
We’ll see what the Browns’ $230 million man can do once he gets healthy come fall.
