It’s official*** Shedeur Sanders is INACTIVE for Sunday’s game against the Patriots
Unfortunately, the wait will likely continue for Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders to get his opportunity to play as the starting quarterback for the team. News broke that Sanders is questionable with a back injury for the contest against the New England Patriots this week.
As we all remember, Sanders was brought up to second on the depth chart behind Dillion Gabriel and this had fans extremely excited at the chance for him to play. It even became closer to fruition in the Dolphins game…
The Browns are actually dominating a game, for once, and leading by a lot towards the final minutes. However, the team stuck with Gabriel throughout, winning 31-6.
Honestly, I’d rather see Sanders get his shot as the true starter than some dumb backup taking a couple of snaps and handing off the ball or taking a few knees. Thus, that was an okay decision by the staff in my opinion.
Now more than ever, it appears the team will be rolling with Gabriel as the starter against the Patriots and beyond. He deserves it after the win this past Sunday.
Likely, the only difference is that Bailey Zappe may be the third string if Sanders is even active, or the second string if he is ruled out with said injury. It’s a change, but not altering this team to a Super Bowl or anything…
Via browns: Zappe (6-1, 215) is in his fourth NFL season out of Western Kentucky. Originally selected by New England in the fourth round of the 2022 draft, Zappe has appeared in 15 career games with nine starts. Last season, he started one game for the Browns. Zappe will wear No. 11.

The Dawgs are 2-5 and face the 5-2 New England Patriots on the road in what will be an extremely tough test after the win last week. I was jokingly telling people wearing Browns gear this week not to allow themselves to get excited about the team, especially with the matchup they are faced with this coming week against quite the daunting opponent.
Regardless, hopefully Shedeur is able to recover for a future opportunity to shine in the starting role. Let’s see what happens moving forward in regards to the quarterback position for the Browns. It’s always interesting with the orange and brown when it’s talking about the quarterback. Well, at least in my lifetime.
