The latest Cleveland Browns news and notes from around the NFL in the Saturday Dawg Chow.

The latest news about the Cleveland Browns and the NFL in today’s edition of the Saturday Dawg Chow as NFL draft prep continues and NFL free agency hits a different level.

Dawgs By Nature:

  • Browns QB rumors: Updates on free agent, NFL draft targets (Jared Mueller) – According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the quarterback options remain wide open for the Cleveland Browns.
  • Former Browns coaches & players in the UFL as spring league kicks off next week (Barry Shuck) – The Cleveland Browns are well-represented in this year’s UFL schedule. Many former players and coaches are keeping their dream alive of being paid to play football, hoping that someone will notice their efforts and believe in their talents once again.
  • Browns lose safety, key special teamer in free agency (Jared Mueller) – Safety D’Anthony Bell is the latest member of the secondary to move onto another team in free agency.
  • NFL Draft Profile: RB Cam Skattebo, Arizona State (Thomas Moore) – The running back group is considered robust in the 2025 NFL Draft, and if the Cleveland Browns want to select a player that fits the stereotype of a “blue-collar Cleveland” player that fans would enjoy, they might consider Cam Skattebo of Arizona State.
  • 2 moves the Browns should make to help the QB (Curtiss Brown) – Does Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry have a surprise move in store before the 2025 NFL Draft?

Cleveland Browns:

  • What Aaron Rodgers’ visit to the Steelers on Friday means for the Browns and Russell Wilson (cleveland.com) – The Big Domino wobbled a little more on Friday when Aaron Rodgers paid a free agent visit to the Steelers, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Once Rodgers decided between the Steelers and Giants, Russell Wilson — whom the Browns hosted last Thursday — will know his fate, and so will probably Carson Wentz and Joe Flacco.
  • Browns still have questions at QB, other skill positions (ESPN) – The first week of free agency came and went with minimal activity from the Cleveland Browns, save for the team’s surprising reconciliation with star pass rusher Myles Garrett, as the two sides agreed to a record-breaking extension one day before the start of the NFL’s negotiation period.
  • When it comes to picking average quarterbacks, the Browns really know their stuff (Browns Zone) – So, the Browns ownership wants a new stadium, the Browns fans want a new team and the Browns coaches, presumably, want a new quarterback. I don’t know about you, but I could use a new set of golf clubs, and I don’t even golf. But that’s OK, the Browns barely play football.
  • Cleveland Browns must stabilize QB room before taking next steps (Beacon Journal) – You have a house. The inside of this house has sustained serious damage. It could be fire, water, smoke, sewage, whatever. The point being that it’s serious enough that ServPro’s rolling up seven deep to assist. In that moment, one’s not thinking about how many televisions they’re going to put in their man cave or the color they’re going to paint the family room. They’re just hoping to get the house to be inhabitable again. That house is the Browns’ quarterback room.

NFL:

  • Aaron Rodgers visits with Steelers but leaves without a deal (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) – Aaron Rodgers visited the Steelers facility on Friday and left without a deal after meeting with coach Mike Tomlin, general manager Omar Khan and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, sources have told the Post-Gazette.
  • 2025 NFL free agency: Experts debate best, worst signings (ESPN) – NFL free agency has started to slow down since officially opening on March 12, so it’s a good time to take stock of the moves.
  • NFL free agency under review: The Vikings are smart to pass on Aaron Rodgers (The Ringer) – The first wave of free agency is complete. Let’s break down the biggest stories and most questionable moves.
