Sunday’s Cleveland Browns game is one for the ages as it is the 3-9 Dawgs facing at home against the 1-11. Many are dubbing it the “Toilet Bowl Matchup,” which I found funny because of how true the term is with how this season has gone.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders is starting for the Browns once again and many would claim it’s another opportunity for him to prove himself after a mediocre outing last week against the 49ers in very windy conditions (16/25, 149 yards and a TD, 93.6 passer rating).
However, this is the problem Sanders faces and it has a lot of hypotheticals that go with it.
—
-If the Browns somehow do not find a way to win against a 1-11 team, Sanders is going to be absolutely destroyed for the loss, especially being at home as well.
-If the Browns do win, everyone is just going to cite that this came against the worst team in the league and thus nothing can come or be made from it as a whole.
-Fans will compare Sanders to rookie quarterback Cam Ward of the Titans and that could be another factor in this matchup.

I guess Sanders is just going to have to try his best and hope for some type of nice outcome heading into a tough matchup against the 8-4 Buffalo Bills. You want a team to truly get to prove yourself, well, that will be one for sure in the following week.
Let me be clear that I am rooting for Sanders and the hope for his success, but just taking a look at the reality of the circumstances in this game. I did reference this possibility of Deshaun Watson starting later in the season and that was only because this season is already all but over.
I tip my cap to the loyal Browns fans still attending the game despite the freezing cold in a contest that truly means nothing for either side. I give myself points for even watching at home HAHA
