Earlier this week, the NFL decided to appeal Judge Susan Robinson’s six-game suspension of Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. Robinson ruled the six games were consistent with previous suspensions. While relying on precedent, Robinson sought to differentiate between violent and nonviolent sexual conduct. Robinson concluded that Watson’s conduct, “Does not fall into the category of violent conduct that would require the minimum six-game suspension.” The league had established as, “By far the most commonly-imposed discipline for domestic or gendered violence and sexual acts.”
Option 1. Harvey keeps the six-game suspension and turns Watson’s 2021 season into a year suspension and makes Watson pay back the $10 million salary he earned not playing for the Texans. This option is very slim.
