Dawgs By Nature/Cleveland Browns:
- The dichotomy of Browns WR Cedric Tillman: Success in 2024 should be repeatable (Jared Mueller) – Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees need to develop a high-quality offense, and the pass catchers, beyond Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku, have to make an impact. That starts with Cedric Tillman.
- Cleveland Browns 53-man roster projection: Post-minicamp prediction include close QB pick (Beacon Journal) – The Cleveland Browns concluded their mandatory minicamp on June 12. Other than four scheduled voluntary OTA days between June 16-19, there’s nothing else on their calendar until training camp gets underway in late July. So, in other words, it is a perfect time to take a swing at projecting how the Browns’ initial 53-man roster will look when it’s unveiled by 4 p.m. Aug. 26.
- Tackle Mason Graham making a believer of defensive coaches (Browns Zone) – The Browns closely watched Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham for his final two seasons at Michigan. They coveted his power, burst and hands. The scouting report said nothing about his ability to boot and rally.
- What changed for Shedeur Sanders over the past 2 weeks, and his status in the Browns QB competition (cleveland.com) – If Shedeur Sanders continues to progress in training camp like he has over the past two weeks, he’ll narrow the gap on the other three Cleveland Browns quarterbacks in the competition.
NFL:
- The Jaguars’ first impressions of rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter (ESPN) – Rookie Travis Hunter danced his way through the conclusion of the Jacksonville Jaguars offseason program this week.
- Ex-NFL star wide receiver Antonio Brown facing attempted murder charges in Miami shooting (Associated Press) – Former NFL player Antonio Brown is facing an attempted murder charge stemming from a shooting that took place during an altercation outside an amateur boxing event in Miami, according to an arrest warrant.
- The Saints have signed a veteran running back after giving him a tryout at minicamp (nola.com) – Cam Akers received a tryout with the New Orleans Saints this week. Now, he’s landed a job. The Saints announced Friday they have signed the veteran running back to a one-year contract. Akers, 25, is coming off a season in which he spent time with the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings. He also began his career with the Los Angeles Rams, where he spent three-plus seasons.
- Dak Prescott nixes narrative about Pickens’, restates endgame: ‘I wanna win a championship’ (dallascowboys.com) – Time flies, as the saying goes, and that feels especially true when considering it feels as if it were just yesterday when the Dallas Cowboys gave Dak Prescott the call to join their room of quarterbacks as the fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
