After a shaky first two games, the Browns defense has collected themselves and started to produce. While you got your usual suspects in Miles Garrett, Denzel Ward and Malcolm Smith, others have risen to the occasion as well.
CB Greedy Williams
Williams has exploded onto the scene recently for the Browns. After losing his sophomore season to a shoulder injury, the third-year corner out of LSU was hungry to prove his worth. Starting for the first time since late 2019, Williams showed up against the Vikings this past week playing every defensive down for Cleveland. Of all the 67 snaps Williams played, none proved more pivotal than his clutch interception of Kirk Cousins after the Browns just made it a 14-7 game. Williams contributed in other ways as well with six total tackles. After getting limited work in the past few games Williams proved himself to be a great partner to Denzel Ward. One can only hope that this past Vikings’ game was a sign of great things to come from the third-year man. Especially with the rough play of Greg Newsome as of late.
