Well, it’s already a crowded quarterback room here in Cleveland for the Browns as we quickly approach the first preseason game this Friday. Even so, the team decided to sign QB Tyler Huntley to be the fifth quarterback on the roster.
The list of quarterbacks are Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillion Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Now, the addition of Huntley makes it a longer list.
Huntley is 27 years old, 6’1 and weights 205 pounds. He went to school at Utah. If you remember, he actually was at Browns training camp last year yet the team decided not to keep him. Last season, Huntley was on the Miami Dolphins after signing there when leaving the Browns. He went 2-3 in five total starts.
In those starts he threw for 829 yards with three touchdowns compared to three interceptions (35.2).
This aquisition isn’t anything of excitment. However, we’ll have to see if the Browns end up keeping him on the roster as say the 3rd-string quarterback to start the season or if he will simply be released before the first game.
Maybe the team saw something in him this season that they didn’t in the previous year? Reports are that Gabriel and Pickett will be out for the first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on friday with injuries, so there’s that as well…
