On Wednesday afternoon, the Cleveland Browns made a notable roster move.
According to a statement from the team, the Browns placed quarterback Nick Mullens on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. However, it was a different move that made the headlines.
The team signed veteran kicker Chris Blewitt to the practice squad. He’s floated around the NFL this season and goes viral every once in a while thanks to his name – Blewitt.

The team’s website had the following bio about the veteran kicker:
Blewitt (pronounced BLUE-it) is 5-9, 195 and officially in his first NFL season out of Pittsburgh. Originally signed by Chicago as an undrafted free agent in 2019, Blewitt made his NFL debut this season and appeared in two games with Washington. He converted 2 of 5 field goal attempts with a long of 52 and made both PATs. He also spent time on the Football Team’s practice squad this season. A native of Fairfax County, Va., Blewitt will wear No. 12.
It’s unclear if he’ll be playing this weekend, but it’s good to see him back on a roster. Earlier this season he had a cup of coffee with the Washington Football Team.
Cleveland faces off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon.
