Two years ago the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans agreed to one of the biggest trades in NFL history, sending Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson to Cleveland in exchange for three first round draft picks and others compensation.

But today marks the finalization of that trade as the final pick that was used in the Watson trade has now been used.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Texans’ pick of safety Caden Bullock marks the end of the deal.

Here’s the final breakdown of players that have been taken by the Texans from their deal with the Browns and subsequent trades:

  • 2022 1st rd pick: G Kenyon Green
  • 2022 4th rd pick: RB Dameon Pierce
  • 2023 1st rd pick: DE Will Anderson Jr.
  • 2023 3rd rd pick: WR Tank Dell
  • 2024 1st rd pick: *traded back for 2024 2nd and 6th
  • 2024 2nd rd pick: CB Kamari Lassiter
  • 2024 6th rd pick: LB Jamal Hill
  • 2024 4th rd pick: S Caden Bullock

The Browns received Watson and a sixth-round pick that they wound up trading for Amari Cooper.

Thus far, it looks like the Texans made off like absolute bandits with this trade. Anderson, Dell and Pierce have become key players for a Texans team that has gone from dumpster fire to Super Bowl contenders in the span of a year.

Granted, the Browns seem to be doing fine as well, coming off an 11-6 season that saw them make the playoffs for the second time in four years. But the trajectory of both teams heavily favors the Texans right now and the Watson trade might go down as one that had massive consequences for both teams for the rest of this decade.
