The Ravens Can Clinch The AFC North On Thursday Evening

December 30, 2023 by The Spun

Thus far no AFC teams have been able to clinch their division. But while the Baltimore Ravens have already secured a playoff spot, they can secure the AFC North division title without lifting a finger tonight.

According to ProFootballTalk, the Baltimore Ravens can mathematically secure the division title as early as tonight if the Cleveland Browns lose to the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.

Baltimore are 12-3 on the season while the Browns are 10-5. But if the Browns fall to 10-6, they won’t be able to catch up to Baltimore even if the Ravens lose out.

Of course, the Ravens can still win the AFC North if they can just win one of their final two games. They play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18.

The Ravens won’t be able to rest all of their starters for the final two weeks regardless of tonight’s outcome though. They still need to beat the Dolphins on Sunday in order to secure the top seed in the AFC.

Nevertheless, you can probably expect a lot of Ravens fans to be pulling for the Jets tonight.

The Jets-Browns game will be played at 8:15 p.m. ET and will air on Amazon Prime Video.
