It’s been a very challenging year for Baker Mayfield. The disgruntled quarterback is seeing a variety of catastrophes going on between Deshaun Watson and the Browns’ front office soap opera drama. It’s unbelievable that we’re approaching July and he is still in Cleveland. However, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for Baker Mayfield. The Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks have expressed interest in Mayfield.
Baker Mayfield is well suited for Carolina. He deserves to play somewhere else and that place is Carolina. The Browns and Panthers could work out a trade deal involving some draft picks. Sam Darnold can still improve and be a good quarterback in the NFL. Mayfield is the better option. Mayfield can help you win more games than Darnold.
Seahawks might see Mayfield as a potential replacement for Russell Wilson, who is now the new quarterback for the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks also have a salary cap situation and might not give Mayfield the money he wants in the future. The Panthers are the better option and it would be interesting to see Mayfield play in the NFC South Division with Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints. Mayfield is “100% percent recovered” from his off-season surgery. Therefore, he will be ready to go to training camp.
There are some speculations that Baker Mayfield could reconcile with the Cleveland Browns. Why? Because the situation with Deshaun Watson continues to get ugly. Numerous women have accused Watson of inappropriate sexual conduct during massage sessions. He recently settled 20 lawsuits against him but still faces four active suits. The NFL is expected to push for a suspension of at least a year.
Mayfield is entering his prime years and this is his moment to shine. We will see Mayfield entering the 2022 season playing with a chip on his shoulder no matter what uniform he wears.
