The 2024 NFL draft is finally here, with the first night in the books as the Cleveland Browns now get set to come on the clock on Day 2 with players like BYU’s Kingsley Suamataia in their crosshairs.
What a night of twists and turns that was. The biggest surprise may have been the Atlanta Flacons deciding to take quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall pick after giving a ton of money to Kirk Cousins in Free agency. From a Browns standpoint, this first round fell perfectly for Cleveland going into the second round.
Could Andrew Berry and the Browns make a big move and trade up for a player who fell out of the first round despite being one of the most talented players in the draft? In this simulation, I did not trade up, but if someone like Johnny Newton or Keon Coleman continues to fall, they could make a splash and trade up.
With the way the board fell, Cleveland can sit out and get some quality offensive line depth as well as a playmaker to add to the wide receiver room.
