Game preview for Cavs vs Bucks.
The Cleveland Cavaliers dropped their first game of the 2025 Las Vegas Summer League. Nevertheless, they get another opportunity today against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks are 1-0 in Vegas so far, with a one-point win over the Denver Nuggets earlier this week. Former Cavalier Pete Nance was a key contributor, adding 13 points and 7 rebounds to Milwaukee’s victory.
Let’s break down a few players to keep an eye on in this game:
Nae’Qwan Tomlin
Tomlin had a monster first day in Vegas, scoring 30 points on 12-16 shooting against Indiana. Can he replicate his scoring in game two?

We’ll be watching to see if Tomlin’s three-point shot continues to fall. He’s always run hot or cold from deep — but so far — he’s been hot. If this continues, he’ll be a problem for any defense to solve. His handle and athleticism at 6’9” already make him tough to contain. Adding a bit of floor spacing would take him to the next level.
While you’re at it, pay attention to the defensive side of the ball, as well. Tomlin is making a strong case to be on a standard contract next season. Polishing his defensive game in tandem with the offensive explosion would allow him to do that.
Norchad Omier
Omier is someone to watch for as the Cavs look to fill their final two-way spot. He appeared hungry to claim that opportunity in his first game of the Summer. Omier has been compared to Kenneth Faried for his frenetic, high-energy play style. He’s undersized for the center position but he makes up for it by being a maniac on the glass. Omier has made sure no one will outwork him.
Keep an eye on Omier as he crashes the glass and runs the floor. He might put himself in all the right places at all the right times.
Jaylon Tyson
Tyson dished out 12 assists last game as he took control of Cleveland’s offense in Craig Porter Jr’s absence. It’s currently unclear if Porter will be cleared to play today after suffering a hamstring injury on Thursday.
Regardless, Tyson will be important to watch. He has a chance to play rotational minutes for the Cavs this season. That means he should be able to quickly prove he’s too good to be in Summer League.
Game one was encouraging. Repeating that performance could be enough to end his time in Vegas.
Tyrese Proctor
Cleveland’s rookie was a mixed bag in his Summer League debut. He nailed a handful of three-pointers and filled the role of an off-ball threat. But whenever he was on the ball, things looked dicey.
Watch to see if Proctor can get to his spots in this game. His handle was a concern coming out of college. Breaking down his defender or attacking off the catch will be focal points of his development.
Defense is worth noting, as well. Proctor has the tools to be a 3-and-D guard. We’ve seen the three-point shot already. Let’s see how much of the point-of-attack defense can show, as well.
