The 20-year-old Australian is a 6’8” wing.

With their final pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers nabbed Luke Travers, a 20-year-old 6’8” wing from Australia. The pick was No. 56 overall in the draft.

Travers has played the last two years for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL in his native Australia. At 6’8” with a 6’10” wingspan, he has an interesting frame to work with going forward as he continues to develop. Last season, he averaged 7.8 points while shooting 41.7% from the field and 25% from three to go with 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.9 steals. He has also represented Australia at the national level, including at the U17 FIBA World Cup. Per cleveland.com, he also worked out for the Cavs during the pre-draft process.

Currently, he is considered too raw to play in the NBA and is likely to stay in the NBL for at least another year to develop his body and game. He, like fellow Cavs second-round pick Khalifa Diop, is someone who the team will play the long game with — if they are in the team’s plans at all.

Here are some Travers highlights:
