Darius Garland could miss 10 regular season games

June 10, 2025 by Hoops Hype

The 2025-26 season, of course, is less than five months away, which suggests that it is likely Garland will miss preseason and regular-season games. “Darius could miss 10 (regular season) games,” a league source explained.

Darius Garland had surgery on his toe today and will be sidelined for the next 4-to-5 months. The significance of that injury should shape how we look at Cleveland’s upcoming summer and who Garland is as a playoff performer. open.substack.com/pub/theinsides… pic.x.com/3gXO2wSZAR – 6:30 PM

With the news that Darius Garland is going to need major surgery on his toe, it’s important to remember in analyzing the Cavs’ season that he was basically a non-participant in their playoff loss to the Cavs. I had him as an All-NBA player this year. – 5:32 PM

It’s been about a month since #Cavs Darius Garland limped out of the playoffs in a Game 5 loss against the Pacers. He was still feeling pain in his injured big toe, so everyone got together and decided surgery was the best option.

Talked a lot about why if the #Cavs consider trading Darius Garland, the Orlando Magic shouldn’t even be considered as a destination on today’s pod!

More on this storyline

Sources say Garland, who missed four playoff games, was still feeling pain and soreness in his big toe nearly a month after the team’s Game 5 Eastern Conference semifinal loss to the Indiana Pacers. After trying to give it extended time to heal on its own, everyone decided that surgery was the best option. The belief is this step will finally remedy the problem, provide him some much-needed relief and perhaps keep it from recurring next season. -via Cleveland Plain Dealer / June 9, 2025
Shams Charania: Darius Garland is likely to miss time to start the 2025-26 season, sources said. He was first diagnosed with the injury on March 23 in Utah and managed it to end the regular season before reaggravating and playing through the toe in the playoffs -via Twitter @ShamsCharania / June 9, 2025
