Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland is again out of the lineup due to right big toe pain. What’s worrisome about this absence is that Garland experiencing the pain on the opposite foot from the one he had surgically repaired during the offseason.
Garland is set to undergo more testing this weekend. He’s missed 17 games already this season, mostly due to his surgically repaired left big toe. When he has played, Garland’s play has slipped from the All-Star level he played at a year ago. His scoring and shooting efficiency are both down.
The Cavs are also going to recheck Sam Merrill this weekend, after he experienced soreness in his right hand. Merrill missed considerable time earlier this season due to a sprained right hand. This time around, the swelling and bruising don’t seem to be as severe as the previous instance.
