Garland’s deal is the largest in franchise history.

Darius Garland has re-upped with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a new, five-year extension that is also the largest deal in franchise history.

As first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Garland’s deal is a five-year deal worth a base of $193 million that could grow to $231 million if Garland hits certain All-NBA escalators.

The deal is a full five-year extension with no options on either side and kicks in for the 2023-24 season. That means Garland is under contract for the Cavs for the next six seasons.

Garland, 22, is coming off his first All-Star season with averages of 21.7 points and 8.6 assists per game. As a team, the Cavs finished ninth in the East before missing out on the playoffs after losing to the Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks in the play-in tournament, He was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Vanderbilt.
