Emergency protection order filed against Cavs’ Rajon Rondo for scary gun incident gets dismissed

June 21, 2022 by Cavs Nation

Rajon Rondo, Cavs

Cleveland Cavaliers veteran Rajon Rondo found himself in hot water last month after allegedly pulling a gun on the mother of his children, which resulted in the courts filing an emergency protection order against the Cavs guard. However, as of June 16th, it’s now been dropped after he and the accuser, Ashley Bachelor, reached an agreement, per TMZ Sports.

The incident happened after Rondo was playing video games with his kids and Bachelor allegedly interrupted them, which angered him. He proceeded to smash a bunch of items around the house and even told Bachelor “You’re dead” before grabbing a gun and scaring her and the children.

While the protection order was on, the Cavs PG had to stay at least 500 feet away from Bachelor and the children. But now, it appears he’ll be able to see them again.

Rondo came over to the Cavs in January via a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers. He played in just 18 games for Cleveland, averaging 3.1 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per night. At 36 years old, it’s unknown what his next move could be as he becomes a free agent this summer. Perhaps he’ll stay with the Cavs but they will need more production out of him in their second unit.
