The Cavs just received some bad news after the team’s 114-98 win over the Orlando Magic in Cleveland. It’s an announcement made by the team stating that star PF Evan Mobley will be OUT for 1-3 weeks with a calf strain injury.

The 24-year-old is currently averaging 17.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists on 51.2% shooting from the floor this season. This comes just after he reached the exciting mark of 500 blocks and is the youngest player to do so in Cleveland history.
In his last game, Mobley played 45 minutes, dropping 20 points in 9-16 from the floor along with nine rebounds and two blocks as well.
Currently, the Cavs are 28-20 and sit in 5th place in the Eastern Conference overall. Of course, this injury hurts the team moving forward, trying to contend for a playoff spot with just over half the season complete.
With Mobley out, look for Jarrett Allen to take over his role along with others getting minutes such as Dean Wade, Larry Nance Jr.
Let’s hope Mobley is able to make it back in just those couple of weeks and be healthy for a playoff run moving forward. However, as said, the team is going to evaluate his status in said time and go from there.
Sadly, the Cavs are already dealing with inuries to Darius Garland and Dean Wade so this additional loss to the team is not going to be a good one. The team, as a whole, really need to get healthy to have any chance to contend.
Get well soon, Evan.
