Thursday was the first positive sign related to Garland’s future availability — even though Atkinson paused when asked if there was any concern about Garland, who averaged 24.0 points and 7.0 assists in the first two wins over the Heat, missing Sunday’s series opener versus high-powered Indiana. “I’m not going to make a judgment either way,” Atkinson replied. “But sure, there’s some concern there. I could see it go either way. I think it’s something he’s going to have to deal with probably the rest of the playoffs.”
