LeBron James is Leading On…Again

July 15, 2025 by Cleveland Sports Talk

This isn’t the first time that Cleveland Cavaliers fans are worried about if LeBron James is going to be playing on the team this coming year or not. Its happened most prevenlantely in 2010 and 2014. We know the results in both of those offseasons…

Here in 2025, things are a bit different as LeBron is 40 years old and just finishing his fifth season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Thus, he’s not quite the same player but still certainly carries with him the talent to be a menace here in Cleveland along with Donovan Mitchell and company if he were to return.

Take a look at LeBron’s reaction to this announcement about not only the re-signing of GM Koby Altman but also his “brother” and former teammate Brandon Weems.

It’s no accident this post is made by LeBron and moreover that the Cavs made this entire move to begin with here in the offseason. Look for the next step to be a signing of Lebron to Cleveland as a member of the Cavs for this upcoming season and maybe even beyond. Who knows, LeBron may have a lot left in the tank…

Last season, LeBron averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists a game. This comes on 34.9 minutes a night for the Lakers. The Lakers went 50-32 and finished 3rd in the Western Conference (1-4 in the Conference Finals to the Minnesota Timberwolves). Those are some incredible numbers, especially because of his age.

Well, it remains to be seen what officially happens. It was reported that four teams reached out to the Lakers, including the afrorementioned Cavs, Clippers, Warriors and Timervolves.

If LeBron’s goal is to win another title in Cleveland, well, this squad gives him that opportunity for sure. Additionally, I believe one more title in Cleveland solidifies his GOAL status (even though I think he already has it).

Let’s see when the news breaks and we will cover it all for you here at Cleveland Sports Talk!
