Tomlin is on a roll.

The Cleveland Cavaliers built a huge lead and learned how to hold onto it this time in a 92-83 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. This is their first win of the 2025 NBA Summer League.

Nae’Qwan Tomlin has been a roaring success in these two games. He scored a game-high 30 points against Indiana and added 21 more today on blistering efficiency. Tomlin is shooting a combined 21-28 across both games and has found no resistance getting to the rim. You can’t ask for much more. Tomlin is currently on a two-way deal with the Cavs. If he continues to play like this, he’ll be converted to a standard deal in no time.

Tomlin’s handle as a 6’10” forward makes him a dynamic scoring threat. His motor was on full display today as he relentlessly put pressure on the defense to protect the rim. Rounding out into a better defender is the next step. Cleaning the glass for 13 rebounds (8 defensive) is one way to become an impactful defensive player.

Jaylon Tyson continued to fill in for Craig Porter Jr. at the point guard position. His performance today was not as stellar as the one before. He dished out 12 assists against Indiana — but only notched 3 dimes today. He shot 3-13 from the floor and was overall less effective on the ball.

Tyson was still able to be impactful, though. He forced his way to the free throw line 10 times and converted nine of his attempts. His deliberate attacks turned into 18 points overall despite the inefficient shooting from the floor.

Tyrese Proctor was a bit better in this role. He handed out 4 assists and only turned the ball over once. He still isn’t getting around defenders one-on-one but he managed to attack a few closeouts and turn the corner on dribble-hand-offs more than before. Proctor shot 3-8 from downtown and finished with 12 points.
