The Browns Are…Back?

September 22, 2025 by Cleveland Sports Talk

It’s officially official. Or is it? Or ain’t it? Or was this all just a dream and the team is actually 0-3, like we all thought was going to happen on Sunday?

Well, the final score is final and the Browns have won their first game of this season after somehow defeating the Green Bay Packers by a score of 13-10 in Cleveland to obtain their first win of the season this year; now 2-1 overall. It was the Browns’ Andre Szmyt’s 55-yard incredible field goal that pushed the team on top. Remember, this kicker struggled with a couple of misses recently, causing the team to lose against Cincinnati not too long ago.

What was most impressive about this win for the Browns is that the team refused to give up despite being down for practically the entire game and seemingly struggling on offense for the entire contest.

Now, is this team, the Dawgs are going to the Super Bowl or even the playoffs? Well, of course not. It’s just an indicator that this team is actually a football team and not a bunch of high school kids pretending to wear NFL jerseys. A lot of work needs to be done, especially on the offensive side of the ball in order to be any type of contender in anything.

However, instead of going 0-3, it sure feels a lot better to get on the board in regard to a win this year. Take a look at this win probability chart throughout the entire affair in Cleveland.

My gosh, that is quite the difference to see from start to finish. It just goes to show that “it ain’t over ’till it’s over” and that’s true even with our beloved Browns.

Now, it’s a battle in Detroit against the now 1-1 Lions (game against the Ravens on Monday Night).

What can the Browns take from this moving forward?

Certainly, the defense appears to be one of the best, actually, in the entire league, so that isn’t a huge issue. What needs to improve is the offense because it’s not going to be so easy to just win with 13 late 4th quarter points to win a drastic late field goal of 55 yards.

Even so, this was a fun one as a fan. Let’s take it and enjoy this week while also trying to improve and now continue to make this team isn’t something more than a team ready to tank for a top-draft pick like we usually do here in Cleveland.

Go to your job or school…

Announce that Super Bowl run you see coming and let’s enjoy this week until, well, it probably gets ugly on Sunday.
