Ohio State took the field this Saturday for its annual spring game. Unsurprisingly, the fans flocked to Ohio Stadium to show their support for the Buckeyes.
Moments ago, Ohio State announced its attendance number for today’s spring game. Over 80,000 fans were seated for this exhibition.
Having 80,000 fans for a playoff game would be impressive. The fact that it’s a spring game truly proves how special Ohio State’s fan base is.
During the first half of the spring game, Ohio State coach Ryan Day thanked the fans for their support.
“Unbelievable. The support from Buckeye Nation has been great this whole offseason and again today,” Day said. “We got a beautiful day with 80,000-plus [at the game].”
On paper, Ohio State has the talent to win a national championship next season. It certainly helps that defensive ends Jack Sawyer and JT Tuimoloau returned to anchor that side of the football.
The Buckeyes also have a lot of new and exciting players on their roster, such as five-star wideout Jeremiah Smith and potential-packed quarterback Julian Sayin.
If the Buckeyes can get great production from their quarterback room this fall, they’ll be must-see TV every Saturday.
Ohio State will begin its 2024 regular season on Aug. 31 against Akron.
